Data is the foundation of innovation in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, but there is a lack of trust with and within the data ecosystem. This is for good reason: when we hand over data about ourselves we are opening a door into a world that is seldom understood. Regulators have attempted to build trust through the establishment of laws and requirements – but more can be done. What actions can organizations such as businesses take at an individual level to restore trust in the system and build a trustworthy environment for innovation?
